I really hope you give General another chance. If you read at all here, you will read the standard advice given to new folks. Takes about 10 days at least to get acclimated to the salt. It is a physical process your body just needs to go through. After, you won't hardly taste the salt and taste snus for what it really is. What you taste those first 10days, is not what snus really tastes like.

So I hope you continue reading here, and give traditional Swedish snus another chance. I love both.

When I started using camel snus to quit smoking, it was the first time I have ever heard of snus. As I started researching more, I read that General was the most popular snus in Sweden, so naturally that's what I ordered. But I just was not ready for the real thing being that the camel mellow or frost was all that I know. From all that I have read, my taste for snus will eventually mature, and maybe I'll move out of the sweet flavored snus.

For now, I just want my lungs to be healthier. I have smoked a pack for close to 30 years and I'm gasping for air from mild physical activity.

From what I've read so far, discreet snus kicks camel's arse in taste and experience. I'm content with camel as it's doing its job in helping me quit smoking, but if there's a better product, why not...

I also got very lightheaded snusing on the General. I don't think I could handle all that nicotine? Don't know for sure, but the room did start spinning for a few seconds and I started sweating like a stuck pig

Hopefully, one of these days, I'll enjoy the traditional Swedish snus as much as you do :wink:

Pedro, Welocme to snus on if I haven't already said it. Try Thunder Frosted. It;s like Camel Frost with a kick in the arse. Also Catch E. is a good minty snus, that might be a good transition to Swedish snus.

I recently placed an order for the catch dry eucalyptus, mocca mint and pomegrate, general mini mint, gotrape #2 and offroad wintergreen from swedish-snus.com. I will try the thunder frosted mini for my next order. I still have about 12 tins of the camels in my fridge and if I keep ordering at this rate, my wife will either kill me or worse, decide to go wild online shopping for her obsessions

Thunder frosted mini and discreet will def be ordered next go around.

Yeah... even the minis will probably put you off. Maybe some other sort of mini. Phantom minis or General minis might give you a more traditional snus pleasure without being too overpowering--might be a good way to "break in" to the whole snus thing. That being said, pedro, I suspect you will like the General dry mini mint as much as I do not :wink:

Definately give General another go. When I first tried it, I didn't really like it either. The strong tobacco taste, the salt, and the higher nicotine than the almost nicotine free Camel SNUS really grossed me out. So I stuck it in the fridge for about a week while trying all the other flavors I ordered. When I came back to it...it was great! I haven't tried as many types of snus as alot of the people here, but by now I've tried enough to where I'm starting to lose track, and General Wintergreen is so far still my favorite, go-to snus, with Roda Lacket running a close second. General white portion isn't too bad either. The Discreet is freakin awesome too for when you want to switch it up a bit, though I still prefer the Swedish a bit more.

I'm thinking it's a misprint. Phantom's a standard snus, and the regular portions are 8mg. I'd guess it would be in the 4mg-6mg range.

Yea, those are the only ones I'm aware of.

I see where the problem is. On V2's site the minis are listed as being 8mg per gram. Northerner translated that to 8mg per portion which wouldn't be correct. the minis are 500mg big, so each one would be 4mg of nicotine.
