I wish I had the funds to order a variety of brands/flavors to try different ones. I am leaning towards Probe and Ettan. I just looked at my confirmation email and realized I didn't order Ettan portions. Crap, I could have sworn I did.

I don't know that Probe would be a good one to order a roll of untested. For 2 rolls I'd get General, and either Grov or Ettan. I prefer Grov out of the last 2.

I didn't order *all* lös, just one roll out of two. The other roll was Grov Black. And the Icetool went through with my order.

Did they specifically say in the email that it had to be all lös? I've ordered Prismasters from them before, too, and in my experience it's all been good as long as there was some lös in your order.

Here's the reply but after reading her reply, I am wondering if you might still get it because it was showing as a choice for you?

You need to place an order with 20 cans of loose snus of Swedish match if you should be able to choose the Icetool General Edition. Most brand is brands of Swedish match, not skruf, Gotlands snus, Offroad, Phantom, thunder and a few more.
If you have chosen Swedish match brands will the Icetool General Edition be shown as gift.

I got a small order in to stock up on LD.
They must have run out of Thunder Blue, it no longer shows up as a bonus.

and curiosity got to me,
I threw in a can of Gotlands Gul lös because of lxskllr's high praise for it.

I also am going to retry General lös,
my first trial was when I was a newbie 10 months ago.

I ordered a roll of Röda Lacket lös and a roll of Ettan lös. I love my Röda Lacket, and Ettan's okay, but I really just wanted the General Icetool. Figured $63.88 for 20 cans of snus and an Icetool (especially one of them limited edition ones) would be worth it, and if I really find myself hating Ettan's in the near future, I can always trade it away.

I'm starting to think I may have a wee bit too much snus. 66 cans, and some discreet counting this order. Oh well. Still need to get my roll of Luckies and Romeo y Julieta, and then I'll stop buying for a while. Or so I tell myself.

Yeah, my understanding from the site at the time I ordered was the General Icetool free with 20 cans of Swedish Match brands. That's what I ordered, the Icetool showed up as a gift option, I chose it, and it went through:

Like I said, that's been their stipulation with Prismasters, too--there has to be lössnus in the order to get one, but it doesn't all have to be lös.

Maybe they changed it later on because it was too popular? Dunno. A free $40 Icetool for buying $40 bucks worth of Match is a pretty damned good deal. Perhaps even a little TOO damned good..

I just went and put in a large order with Northerner; I just simply realized that I don't use SM products enough to warrant 20 tins, even for an Icetool. :P That, plus the fact that I don't really order rolls pretty much killed the whole deal for me.

WOOT! I indeed got the Icetool - with pretty General logo on it! I now have one of each 5ml and 3ml.

Note to all, this order had NO los in it this time. I ordered a roll of Still Catch Violet Licorice and 1 roll of Grov Svart, as I am stocked on my Skruf Stark los.

So it must have been ANY 20 tins of SM product.

If it was an error, it was in my favor. Very happy.....now where is my Skruf...

Ditto. Was my first Icetool, and it certainly is a neat tool, though I'm taking some time to get used to it. I've grown pretty accustomed to a larger pris--I usually use an entire Prismaster full. So I may be in the market for a 5ml at some point, we'll see. :wink:
