    Tobacco taxes in EU

I understand that some countries does not have to pay tobacco taxes in EU. when ordering snus like UK, Germany, Norway... If i order snus, i have to pay abot 10 euros of one can of snus. Is this true or not, and why its like that?

    Hiya, welcome to Snuson :^)

I'm from the USA, so I don't really know your laws, but I would expect all the EU countries to tax tobacco the same. Maybe one of our EU members will give more knowledgeable information, but that's what I've got.

There was a site selling from Norway I believe, that would avoid EU taxes. The other Europeans here were dubious about the ability of getting packages through, and as far as I know nobody tried them. I don't remember what the site name was, but perhaps you could hunt them down and see what they're about.

That was Frank's experiment at using a loophole and apparently it didn't work. The site was snusen.com. Now clicking on it just brings you back to northerner.com.

It is untrue. All EU countries pay the same tax on tobacco. The UK and Germany included. Last time I got snus from Norway it was certainly taxed as well - think it was about NOK70 for a can of lös. The only countries that might be exempt are those that have yet to join the EU like Serbia and Croatia.

Terminator you are paying an EU tobacco tax, it's already included as part of the price paid when you purchase from Northerner.
