So, after the PACT goes into effect, could I order from you (snusjet) and then instead of having it sent through the mail (UPS, FEDEX) pick it up from your Houston location? I live in Houston and Snusjet is close to where I live. Also, Snusjet came up in the General's "where to buy" as a place I could buy General products from.

            Thanks.

I am pretty sure they do sell and deliver to Texas, you are just charged state tax. Thats why my question said "After the PACT goes into effect".

Well, balls! Thanks for the heads up. Thats what I get for not searching well enough.

I don't understand why they wouldn't ship within the state they reside and not have any kind of store front in the city in which they reside.

Companies come to Texas for the low taxes they pay; I guess Snusjet is just following suite. Sad thing is, there are plenty of customers here in Houston that snus. The oil rigs have a no smoking policy, if I am not mistaking. The last time I bought locally (snus), the guy at the cigar shop said he has a lot of Norwegian and Swedish customers that buy hundreds of dollars worth of snus from him every month because of their jobs on the rigs.

Snusjet, Help out the Houstonians, PLEASE! lol

He doesn't sell to Texas because then he'd be required to charge the $1.32 state tax smokeless tobacco tax per tin. If you buy from him, whether it's now or after PACT, you'll need to pay that tax.

Thats why I was asking for after PACT since we will be required to pay the tax anyway. But, I still don't understand why they will not ship inside Texas.

Thanks for the $1.32 state tax figure, I wasn't sure what the tax was on snus here.

Post PACT there should no longer be any reason not to ship in Texas or to open a storefront for that matter unless their target market of the EU is their primary income source and it'd be too much of an expensive hassle to comply with U.S. regs. It's why Club Snus if folding after all. Only the biggies will survive the expense and complexities of PACT compliance.

A storefront is a whole 'nother big, and risky, deal and they may not be up for it. If the Houston market isn't big enough for a dedicated retail snus outlet then there may be no place that is, at least for a while yet.
