Latest order came in. I ordered from premiumsnus this time. A roll of Onyx and two tins of Roda Lacket and Ettan. The order was divided for shipping: five tins, five tins, and two tins. The first five got hit for $28. Not bad. THe other two came in duty free. The thing that floored me is that they upped the retarded "handling" fee to $8.50. I can't believe they charge us to open OUR mail...

my last hit was 80.97 for 7 cans and the order was for one member here that I really feel bad for him. He didn't want to pay the customs and said that I can have it, I don't want to pay that as well. And this is the main reason I order from PP and to my US address ...

The handling charge is 8.5$ now, wow, and they strike for more money, lol we as clients should go on strike and not use them at all, man a package that I sent form the US via USpost cost me exactly 2.1$ how much Canada post wanted for the same package??? 8.70$ freakin nuts

I have been working through my stash since Christmas, and just recently put in another order. 5 rolls coming in 5 packages. By my calculations the potential tax will be $433, and all-in it would work out to just over $12/can for portions, and that's for snus that's *on sale*. Alberta pays the most in tax at a ridiculous $0.30/gram. From reading the recent posts here I am really hoping that a bunch of customs agents have gone on vacation and a couple of packages will slip through. I won't hold my breath.

I have just had a Canadian customer get hit by a huge tax twice the cost of the snuff we shipped. We get this qiute a lot from Australia and we always tell the customer to reject the order and we resend. Customs are bound by law to return the original order to us. We've only once had this happen to a Canadian before, in 2007, and they simply rejected it and we resent without any problem.

Yesterday, I got dinged with a 15 dollar tax bill when Northerner sent me a tin of Jackobsons wintergreen separetly. The total paid is 19 dollars for a tin. When they taxed me on a 5-tin package, they charged me 30 dollars. I think they have genuises working at Canada customs

That's not too far off the mark considering the rip-off "Handling Fee" which is now up to $9.95. I would have sent it back and cut my losses.

For people ordering to a US address and bringing it back into Canada, are you declaring it at the border or are you "discretely" bringing it back in? I would imagine if you get to deal with the customs officer in person you would be paying the actual duties.
