What irks me, is my fave snus is not even there anymore. What happened to the old getsnus stock? I like Offroad Original Portion, and Phanbrix Classic and Classic Brown Portion, and these are not even listed, but last I looked Getsnus had Offroad OP, and Roth Brown OP in stock.

Well, though some may find it weak, they were my first site to order from. I also ordered from a place called snuscentral.com. I ordered from there partly out of the snuspocalypse theory about PACT that I have (****ING LEADERS!), but also because I cried when they discontinued Roda Lacket Claq Qui. What better way to enjoy tobacco is there then a smoked snus with hints of fruit that is damn strong in its own right? Like a mellow cigar after dinner I'd say. Well, because they were the last place to have any left in inventory, I ordered ten cans and had it shipped here for a total of $33 bucks. To put in perspective what PACT will do, it will make that 30 dollar bill a sixty dollar bill overnight. So compared to that, I guess I will pay a bit more on the snus itself through Frederick rather than be forced to pay 30 on shipping. My General E.S. los better be in here in a few minutes or I'm going to be so pissed. I've seen like 4 FedEx guys go by, but not UPS brown vans! That's always how it goes huh? You see a ton of stuff when you don't want or need something, but never when you do. How is Frederick's shipping? I might just pick up some Skruf Xtra Sterk los to try it out.

I have a pretty good supply of snus to last me a while (6-10 months aprox). I just may use my remaining stock to wing myself off of snus. I could use nasal snuff exclusivly for my nicotine habit, or maybe pick up one of the sweet 510 Ecig........or maybe I'm just flabbergasted and clueless to what I'm saying....

They were owned by Swedish Match, and I think between shipping cost, and snus cost they were just about breaking even. I have considered it to be a possible ploy to get snus in more American hands while it was still easy to do so, and ensure future consumers, and more mouths talking about snus. If this is correct, it was only a matter of time before prices went up anyway. You can't run a business forever not making money.

Here's mine. UPS decides to not ship any tobacco to consumers as of 1 July.

Northerner buys out GetSnus.com for just enough to cover the costs of closing down GetSnus.com - expecting to recoup these costs through increased sales until 1 July (or maybe the end of their current UPS contract).

SwedishMatch becomes the only snus available in the US via their in-place distribution network.

Northerner is about to make some buku bucks in the USA. Good for them I guess. I will miss free shipping and cheap rolls, and 5 packs. Screw the bonus can, it was always Wintergreen, Mini Mint, or General los. On a side note, did Northerner used to send bonus cans?? I got an order yesterday and they threw in 3 cans of Catch Licorice Minis (in case I ever need something very tiny with which to wipe my ass lol). Northerner's setup as a real distributor in the USA. If getting things in the mail proves to be a huge PITA, you might be able to pester your local tobacco shop to deal with Northerner. I don't know how all that works. It may be more difficult than that; alcohol has some pretty retarded rules in effect for different sales scenarios. I think most of the brands will be available in some capacity, but you may have to jump through more hoops than a circus lion to get them.

All this deserves a response of course and I'll try to answer any questions you may have.

First of all, someone mentioned us (Northerner) buying out the little guy. That's sorta funny to read since GetSnus.com was owned by Cigars International which is a company 10 times the size of us, and they in turn are owned by Swedish Match, who are 100 times bigger than us. Their reasons to get out of the online snus business is theirs and theirs alone. Your guess is as good as mine.

Secondly, regarding back orders. They will all be honoured of course, but due to technical issues you won't be able to see them on your accounts. We have all the info saved however and you will get your orders at the price agreed upon. All customers with pending orders will be contacted within the next few days.

Thirdly, regarding the "old" GetSnus pricing and free shipping. As I mentioned above, GetSnus was owned by Swedish Match, and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to understand that their purchasing prices may have differed somewhat to ours... I can tell you this though, there is no way to stay in business for us with that pricing and those shipping terms. The 5th can free is something we're looking into, and at this stage it looks as though we'll keep that. Again, some technical aspects to sort out before I can tell you more about that.

Fourth, what GetSnus and their staff has communicated regarding their stock/inventory isn't something we've had any control over.

Fifth. Chad. Haha, are you serious? What would his part in this be? The mastermind behind the whole deal?

Sixth. No, we're most certainly not closing down GetSnus.

Well, conspiracy theories aside, I got hooked on snus for health benefits, but then fell in love with taste. Americans haven't ever really been on the forefront of good taste in some time. Even damn music is a perfect example. I am a melodic death metal vocalist and love the melodeath that Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Norway puts out. Americans have American Idol, in which a person with the talent of a fish carcass caresses our ears with shrills and shrieks of death. That is the difference: Americans have no taste. There, I said it. I will now follow with the qualifier: The MAJORITY of Americans do not. We people right here, well, we are a select few. We are those that won't settle for Camel Mellow shit in the stores. We are the ones willing to pay a few bucks more for the best tobacco on the market. Some things, you just DO NOT skimp on. This is one of them.

Remember guys, get your portion tools and whatever else you need quickly before the price goes up. I'm ordering an Icetool (I have a Prismaster, but I'm upgrading!) and a couple of los cans to go with it. Skruf Xtra Stark (so I can use a small amount and have it go a LONG way), Nick and Johnny portions, and probably something else (got a recommendation?). I cannot believe this type of discriminatory bill passed, but that's another matter for a different thread. Outside of that, I think that snus still has a good future. I think that they will secure some type of deal with UPS, FedEx, or something of the sort because they will be the SINGULAR and premier snus dealer within the United States. I don't think those companies may be able to resist that type of deal. Exclusivity, though it may cause prices to rise, will still save us (in the end) because of the logistic network given to Northerner by GetSnus.com and Swedish Match.

AND THANK GOD FOR FREDERICK'S RESPONSE! At the very least, the 5th can is something that will indeed be a good thing to you. I see the problems associated with a smaller company trying to to everything that Swedish Match did, but at least you are on the right track there.

You can say what you will about GetSnus.com being a bad site, or not being revolutionary...but when the PACT Act takes effect, you will be thanking them for providing a US Warehouse and network for snus to be used in the United States. At least I figure as much!
