Getsnus No More

I don't know, I kinda have mixed feelings about this takeover. I liked the GetSnus.com's policy of a mystery can and free shipping on big orders and quick replies to messages....but they sometimes ran short on stock. Northerner may have the opposite problem. They may have everything here, but just slow responses and a really not so cool policy of Order 100 cans and get 10 free...The other site would let you get 20 free (1 for every 5 cans). I like the selection, but the most exotic thing I'll get is Skruf Xtra Stark, that should say something. I just will really miss the mystery cans, they let you try something new without having to commit money towards it, which is a really smart idea also for business.

I have always received a timely response from Northerner and even was helped out by Fredrick here on the site. The sting of the cost isn't so bad, its only going to get worse from here anyway.

Proven vendors are getting scarce. I don't have any issues with Northerner. Before Getsnus came around, I used Buysnus and Northerner for everything. I can do that again. Competition's good for consumers though, so It's a little disappointing that the number of vendors got smaller. We'll see what happens... In this unique case, a stronger Northerner may be better for everybody. I'd rather have 1 gorilla dealing with laws and crap, than 100 monkeys :^)

And I definitely agree with you here. If one company is going to do it, let it be the Northerner. They have the longest track record of any of them, so I'm sure they have connections out the a** with Swedish Match and others. My eventual hope is that I can one day drive to the gas station, fill up, walk inside, and see General Ekstra Sterk portion next to Skoal and Copenhagen. What a dream that would be...

Outside of impossible pipe dreams, Northerner (especially if you are reading), you NEED to use the Mystery can idea. It works a lot better for business and will attract enough customers to offset shipping costs associated with being in the United States. Hell, even a sample of stuff is all I want. Like today, I ordered two General ONYX, I bet the mystery can is Grovsnus Black (if I am very lucky!). See how that worked? They look at what you ordered and let you try something new you might not have got otherwise, increasing business, profits, and referrals to the site. This is the primary reason, in my opinion, that such a small site like GetSnus.com managed to gather such a loyal fan base. I do pray that Northerner learns from their successes.

I do think, if they are not going to continue with the unique things Getsnus offered, like the free mystery can, then they should just call it Northerner USA. Because that's what it is, not Getsnus.

Wow! So how many mirrored sites does that make now? I must say I really don't care as I think selection and availability are the most important parts to me. Also being able to get snuff (especially HDT) has been a big selling point for me. So my Question is, Are they going to move the snuff lineup to one of the American sites after PACT?

I just looked at their shipping prices... they have gone up too! I hope these people contract with one of the private carriers to get a better price.
