Northerner Has Sinned Against Us

Sadly, when the cost of doing business goes up....everyone bears the increase in prices. Northerner made an incredibly intelligent business move, and have strengthened their position in this market. I'm happy for Frank and Fred and will continue to use their store/stores exclusively, because IMO they have and always will offer the best product and best service. Knowing Frank he will do whatever he can to keep the prices as low as he can, so that it's not that much of a shock to our wallets. The bottom line here is that because of PACT it will cost them more money to do business in this country, and it will cost us a little more money to get our snus.

The alternative to bitching about this is, find another form of tobacco to use...not being a dick, just a realist. I have to pay more too, sure I'm pissed...but not at Frank. I'm pissed at the U.S. nanny state for passing such lame ass legisltation into law. Frank is making it possible for you and I to continue getting our snus by coming to the U.S., and if absorbing GetSnus makes that position more fiscally viable, then I'm good with it.

Yes, businesses must pass on higher costs in order to remain profitable. It's a simple economic fact, but it has nothing to do with my post or point. Yes, PACT sucks. Yes, statists and their nanny state policies suck and no, I don't fault or dislike Frank or Northerner. They obviously made a business decision based on the best interest of Northerner. It's what profitable businesses do. But I fail to see how less competition benefits the consumer. Until yesterday, it wasn't unusual to hear someone on this board voice disprovable of Getsnus because they were owned by the evil mega-corporation, Swedish Match, which presumably was going to put everyone else out of business. Now I'm told to assume there was no way Swedish Match and Northerner could have co-existed as separate, profitable entities and that I should be happy about it. Excuse me, but I fail to see how anyone could be happy about this, you were always free to order from Northerner, that hasn't changed. But now, I no longer have a choice. Understand? I'm done "bitching". I hope I've been clear.
BTW- a roll lasts me well over a month, so I was never in the habit of placing large orders. Guess that's over. I appreciate the posters pointing out that shipping charges are about the same for four rolls as they are for one. Large orders are obviously the way to go. $11 bucks to ship four rolls isn't bad, but FREE was better! Getsnus R.I.P.

Not really sure why this person got so upset, thought we were just having a civil discussion. Oh well, live and let live. Again, I'm glad Northerner aquired GetSnus. The alternative was to let Swedish Match (CI) sell it to someone else, or just close it altogether. Sure there are a lot of questions about what's going to happen, but I trust Frank and Fred to do the right thing with GetSnus. They will do the best they can to provide us with the same service we've been accustomed to getting from them.
