    john,

Not to promote any of us spending more money but............... Getsnus was owned by Swedish Match (one of the biggest Tobacco companies in the world) who was able to subsidize much of the cost (thus the unrealistically low prices per market standards). It seems that SM was insuring a viable presence in the USA and now that that is established they are selling off a number of their sites (Getsnus is not the only one. there is at least one other that I know of)

Northerner is a good shop that I will continue to use. The trick I think facing all the vendors today is how to stay competitive when many of the factors that will determine the future market reality remain at this point unknown. The company able to adapt will thrive.

I for one am glad to see Northerner operating a separate entity here in the states. This seems to make the option of placing an order exclusively from their Swedish site more of a likely possibility. I think this more than bonuses or free shipping will prove a VITAL ASSET to us under the new USA law. On the other hand if it all goes south and the doomsday scenario proves right, I am glad to have Northerner on this side of the Atlantic.

Regardless Getsnus did exactly what SM hoped it would do................it made snus accessible thus creating a US market/presence. You, John, are the indicative why of SM's expectations for Getsnus. Now that (subsidized) reality has changed and the playing field is leveling to market standards. Painful? Yes. Insidious? No!

Well I'm very happy that Northerner is on here asking us directly what we think. That alone is a huge thing in my mind and should be applauded!

I usually make large orders to curb shipping costs, but I think the deals might be best suited for the folks placing smaller orders like new snusars and those on a tight budget. I'm on the fence between half roll specials and the mystery can. I'm leaning toward the half roll specials just because the mystery can seems to irk people when it's something they hate.

@Jonsnuser: I started an SF Bay Area Snusars group, it's still pretty small (6 members) but please join up and maybe we can all meet up sometime.

Mystery can got my vote, although half roll discount sounds good.

I'd favor the 5-can roll discounts.

I voted for 5-pack discounts but I should have voted "other". Here's my suggestion: free (and fast) shipping was the only reason I dumped considerable money into Getsnus's pockets since they have been around. I understand that $50 is an unreasonably low purchase for free shipping, but $200 is too high for most everyone. If you offer free shipping on orders at $100+, I all but guarantee that you will sell 25% more snus on at least 25% of all orders. Many of us calculate how much we are spending per can when shipping as factored in. We delight in knowing that (pre-PACT) we are spending under or around $3 per can. If I am planning on spending $65-$75 on snus, and I have the option of spending $25-$35 more than I planned in order to get free shipping, I will do it EVERY time. Giving you $25 more than I had planned for more snus at a cheaper price per can is infinitely preferable to giving you $10-$15 just for shipping. I don't order $200 in snus, ever, but if the threshhold was $100, I would increase my order by 25-30% every single time. Please consider, and thanks for asking! Cheers.

I voted for the 5 can discount. There are some varieties of Snus I like but don't use a lot. So, the 5 cans end up being a 2 -3 month supply for those. I buy 10 can rolls of my most used Snus varieties. So, General los and Ettan portions get ordered by the full roll.

The mystery can sometimes worked for me but, more often than not, it ended up being a can of something I didn't like.

Maybe Northerner will have a better selection of mystery can?

Well, they could do something like buy 10 cans and get 1 can free of your choice.

I also think $200 is too much to get free shipping. I've never been a big buyer, so I never even did $50, but with the Pact, I think $100 would be good.

                          I completely agree with Roo.

My basement is full of books that I haven't got around to reading because Amazon does free shipping on > 25$. I don't ever make orders from them for < 25$.

                            Ok,

This is, in my opinion, the ultimate incintive plan for the new Getsnus:

                            5 can roll discounts
Free shipping on orders over $100
Buy 10 cans get 1 free can of your choice

I think this all would appeal to everyone, and sorta keeps the idea of the special deals the original getsnus had.

What about point reduction pricing. How this would work have one tab on the snus for prices in usd have a second tab for price reduction so lets say the snus you want is 4 bucks single can flip over to the point reduction side 50 points used new price 3.50 100 2.50 200 1.50 300 pay shipping cost 400 free can with purchase of other snus

Usually, but ... I am still going through a variety of snus to find what I really like, but after a few weeks, I do know that I need some Stark or ES when the cravings for a cig are bad, but I don't use more than a pris or two per day. So if a can of general ES or Skruf ES will last a month or more, I don't need more than 4 or 5 at a time in the freezer taking up space that could be used for things I use more frequently. I guess it depends on what you use and how you stock up, but I like the half rolls. It gives me a bit of a discount that I wouldn't get by ordering 5 individual cans without making me commit to a full roll which in the scenario I described would last a year, and I may not like that variety in a year. So yeah, I voted for the half rolls.
