WHAT? No idea. I thought you meant pact, not PACT. So, what's the short on this....they have to pay tax but can still ship? If so, fine, pass the costs on to me transparently, just don't gorge me on shipping, don't kill the US phone numbers and don't borg out all the websites.

Tobacco is deemed non mailable through the USPS.
Must be delviered by a courier that will age verify upon delivery (meaning you have to be home when they deliver)
and enforces sales tax on tobacco orders.

sounds like consolidation to me, which presents opportunities for the snus-entrepreneurs out there who see the whole that was just opened in this market. If Northerner was smart, they would have not made it look like a smothering and would have kept some of the aspects of getsnus in place. Like AB, they don't stamp Bud shit on every micro-brew they buy. They roll with the model and sweep up inefficiencies. most people have no idea what they own. This was a very negative experience, as a business person I was offended. The exact same shipping model of the one I avoided POPPED UP IN MY FACE when I needed a quick, cheap can. And, I still buy from Northerner on my long buys. But, today, I'm pissed at both! LMAO. Too funny. I'd call that not so smooth in their thinking.....

We're in a major recession too and snus users aren't exactly the kind that want Bud everyday. They're different. They look for choices. That's the whole freaking market mentality. Block-headed PR. You can tell Frank I'll be happy to share my professional viewpoints with him for 3 day assured delivery on all snus.

          Have fun ya'll

Here's a thread regarding PACT; one of a million around here :^D

There's also FDA regulations, but they shouldn't affect you if all you buy is the products Getsnus carried.

I didn't use GetSnus much but you may see more products added too. Northerner has a very large selection, and granted we are losing a few - we still have a large selection to work off of!

Why so angry? I understand being disappointed that you won't get the same prices and low/free shipping costs, and I can understand if you are upset with GetSnus for not advising their customers of the change and in fact lying about it, but.... whatcha gonna do? The world still turns.

There's no holes in the market that can be filled. Small shops are shutting down across the country. It's too much paperwork and expense dealing with the government. Northerner may seem huge, but they really aren't that big. They're trying to get big, and I wish them all the success in the world. Tobacco's a dangerous game these days. Centering your company around it is a tough way to make a go at a living. I don't think I'd have the balls to do it....

Wait. Are you saying there's a BAN of shipping snus now but it doesn't apply to Euro shippers?

That seems it might be the unspoken maybe.

Hopefully Northerner will make some of those delicious swedish candies available from the US warehouse. And Phantom brown los.

United States Postal Service can no longer ship tobacco. This means that only private carriers like UPS and FedEx with age varification are allowed to ship tobacco to you. Unrelated to PACT, the FDA has required that all tobacco manufacturers disclose the ingredients in their products and pay fees to register. Many manufacturers, such as Gajane (Odens) are not complying with this regulation and pulling out of the US market. Penalties for shipping these products are steep, to the tune of $15K per oder I read on another thread. Snus vendors are certainly not going to risk such penalties. Look for the thread "Can I still get Odens after PACT?" or whatever, the list of noncomplient manufacturers is in there, among other places. If you like any of that snus, stock up before the end of June while you still can. Use USPS while you still can.

Yup, mail is out. Private carriers are currently ambiguous. European shipments are fraught with peril. You may get a shipment without hassle, a shipment could be seized, or a shipment could be seized with a HEFTY fine as a bonus. Only time will show what will actually happen.
