We at Northerner would like to announce the newest member of our team. Most of you already know him, as he’s been a member of Snuson for well over a year now. Rick Charles, or rickcharles606 as you/we know him on Snuson, has joined the Northerner team as the Director of US Sales/Distribution.

He has been working with us behind the scenes for over a year now, doing what we can to make Swedish snus a reality at US brick and mortar stores. We felt that now is the best time to announce his position with us, because we now have everything in place to begin shipping snus to brick and mortar stores in the US.

We are convinced that Swedish snus will be a success in the offline US market place just as it has been online, and have committed ourselves to making that dream a reality, so has Rick. He is a strong addition to our team and brings years of experience to the table. So, if you have questions concerning the US distribution, feel free to ask away. Thanks:-)

Congrats, Rick! Even if this job isn't exactly new, it's news to many who didn't know about your "behind the scenes" role.

First....Thanks to Frank and Fredrik for all they do to make this site and the US distribution efforts, possible. Thanks to all of you on this site, your input is always welcomed and is often used as a rudder for the direction of this company. Our goal is to ensure that quality Swedish snus can be purchased right along with any other tobacco product, at your local convenience store/tobacco store at an affordable price. I know that would be something that I'd like, and I'm sure many of you would like that as well.

Initially we will be distributing in PA, NJ, NY, KY and are working on a couple other states and distributors. Our plan is to grow organically and spread throughout the nation. Growth will be slow at first, but we are a small company and need to take baby steps and educate the public and market as we go. This site is the best place for the education, and more and more people find it daily. Thanks again for all that "you...the collective you" do for the snus community!

I've been thinking about this lately, don't get discouraged if sales are slow at first, many of us have stocked up a lot of snus to prepare for PACT, and will probably not be ordering as much as usual. I can't speak for everyone, but I know I probably won't be placing any orders for a while after PACT, unless there's a new snus I must try.

We realize that most of the online buyers have stocked up, and we will work to develop the current markets to attract new snus users. Eventually, we will offer a store locator on our websites to direct information seekers to brick and mortar stores in their area.

We welcome any and all recommendations. If you have a specific store or chain that you'd like to see contacted...shoot me a PM. I would ask one favor though, if you do speak to someone that may be interested in carrying snus in their respective store, gather the information and let us contact them. There are sometimes delicate relationships between stores and their distributors, and we don't want to upset that balance....only enhance it.

That's a great point! Get the manufacturers to blend up some nice limited-edition snuses and I'd bet even those of us with stockpiles will come out of the woodwork for an order.
