A question for Frederik about Thunder Frosted Long +

    Frederik,

I need to order Thunder Frosted Long + and quite often it's out of stock.

Are there problems getting it in and when do you expect to get some in?

Will there be problems getting stock in future?

    Cheers Frederik
    Paul.

    Hey Paul,

First, I'd like to make a general statement. I apologize to everyone who have started threads, sent PMs and making posts asking for our input but the fact of the matter is that we are just totally swamped right now and none of us have had much time to spend hanging out at our fav snus community. So, basically, that's my answer to most questions here on SnusOn is - we're busier than we've ever been. With the extra turnover the GetSnus deal brought us, together with making all the final preparations for Pact, we are falling behind on both shipping and customer service. Right now, looks like we're about 1 day behind but we hope to have this resolved early next week.

To answer your specific question Paul, there won't be any problem getting Thunder Frosted + in the future. The reason we're currently out of stock on some of the Thunder brands is that V2 are also selling more than they ever have and are having a hard time keeping up with demand. That, (and concering the US) along with the fact that our labeling machine (the one we use to put US warning labels on the cans) has turned out to be a bottle neck (which we never imagined it would be, but the US market has taken off in a huge way the last month or so), does result in some shortage in the US warehouse. After PACT, that will change though. Since the number of brands offered will be less and the fact that some of the manufacturers will label the cans themselves will enable us to keep much higher stock levels.

Quick update on the FDA submission front. We have confirmation that the following brands will be available post-PACT.

    - Gotlandssnus (Gotlandssnus and Jakobsson's brands)
    - V2 Tobacco (Thunder, Offroad, Rothbrix (aka Phantom) and Fellinni)
    - Swedish Match (all brands)
    - Gellivare (Gellivare and Landströms)
    - Gajane (all brands)

Also, the prices on some of these brands will be more than reasonable. Some of the above manufacturers have really shown that they want to keep selling snus at affordable prices in the US. That, together with the fact that we will lower our own profit margins considerably will result in snus costing apprx as much as what you pay today. I'm not saying this is across the board, but atleast 2 of the manufacturers listed above have really come through for all of us.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Paul and going off topic;-)

    Thanks,
    Fredrik

Thanks for the update, Fredrik, it is very much appreciated. I suppose that if any retailer is going to have a problem, having more orders than you can handle is the best problem of all. It's very good to know that you and the manufacturers you mentioned are so committed to keeping the US market competitive and thriving.

Very much appreciate the reply Fredrik and it's great to hear the other news and be kept informed. Sounds to me like it's all good news for future business.

          Thanks a lot Fredrik!

I'll miss having LD, but now that Gellivare's on board, I'll be reasonably happy with the selection available.

I hope you guys have something to do post PACT. You might be tracking down crickets in the warehouse after the PACT rush :^D

Well, to put this whole PACT thing into perspective. I doubt that more than 10% of our customers know what it is, and what it means. So the whole 'hoarding' discussion is a little exaggerated:-)

Also, since there's a demand for certain brands that may not be filled initially, this gives manufacturers the chance to really gain market shares. If customers can't buy for example Skruf Stark Portion at an affordable price, then I wouldn't be surprised if we see a reasonably priced substitue before too long. That's just me guessing though.

I'd like to see V2 do well in America. It isn't my favorite snus, but they're good guys, and with a blank slate starting out, they have a good shot at the American market. Same thing with Gotland. It would be amusing if Americans ended up having easier retail access to the best snus, than the Swedes do :^D

I have to agree. I think there's a great opportunity for the smaller snus manufacturers to pick up major market share and grow significantly by tapping the US market. That would be a success story for both them and us, especially if V2 and/or Gotland's grows enough to open a North American factory.

Fredrick stated that he thinks that only about 10% of their customers, the U.S. ones presumably, know about the PACT act. Really? That sounds awful low. That would mean that only about 10% of U.S. snus users have ever read this forum because you wouldn't have to be here more than a couple of times to get an earful of all the PACT discussion.

Not when you consider that snus is a mainstream market in Sweden, and probably most of the other Scandinavian countries. It's only a niche market here, and a small niche market at that. In addition, Northerner has customers all over the world. All things considered, it's not hard to see that 90% of their business is to non-US customers.

If he's including all of his worldwide customers then I'm surprised even 10% know about PACT. Hard to imagine anyone from here not knowing about it.
