Snus getting some popularity in the US

I went on the random hunt for snus and snuff as I do from time to time. I happened to be in PA. So I drove down business 30 in Exton and found a little cigar shop. I had just placed a massive pris in my lip and I went in to ask for snuff and snus. I sounded a little weird due to the pris so he looked at me funny but me motioned to a shelf on on it was a box of General white portion samples. I was ecstatic! Not only did I find some real swedish snus, it was free. Too bad I could only get one (which had 3 portions in it). Hopefully things will take off despite the crummy PACT act.

Popularity among the cigar shop crowd at least. It's a start.

I'm trying to be hopeful that the silver lining of PACT is that it will spur availability of Swedish snus at more local retail outlets. And that having it out there for people to see and try--instead of them having to learn about snus and then take it upon themselves to find and order it on the Internet--will help boost its popularity.

Our online suppliers are great, but for any product I use daily I prefer being able to buy it locally so I don't have to worry about things like remembering to reorder before I run out. The local tobacconist where I buy my pipe tobacco has been selling General for a while, and it's also been available at some other local retailers (a cigar store and a few liquor/cigar superstores), so I have been happily buying my go-to General locally. Then I'll order online every once in a while for various non-General snuses to use occasionally for a change of pace. Even when buying General locally, I still feel the need to do the stock-up thing because my tobacconist is a little out of my way and closes earlyish in the evenings, making it hard for me to get there on workdays, so I like to try to limit my trips there to once a month.

In my dream world, we'll be able to find a broad selection of Swedish snus (and not just wintergreen, people!) at any corner store that sells American smokeless. (In the meantime, I'd settle for being able to buy just General at every corner store!)

I've so far found two cigar shops in my area that sales General.

I think I read somewhere that SM wants to eventually have all it's brands in retail shops in the US.

I would love to be able to buy Ettan locally.

There's three cigar shops that I found in San Antonio that sell general. One actually had Los which I doubt I'll try. I hope it's one day like Sweden where they carry all brands

I just tried Lös for the first time the other day.

Once you get some practice at hand baking, you'll probably love it should you ever try it.

I'm also seeing full-page ads for Camel Snus in GQ and People magazine. It may not be the best Snus out there, but at least it should get some people's attention turned to Snus in general.

                  Yeah, it does that too.

It's definitely an "at home" thing for me.
