If you ordered BEFORE pact, iwhat happens if it ships AFTER pact?

If I ordered something a week or two ago, pre-pact, but it doesn't ship untill next month, post-pact, will that mean anything to me? Will I have to pay some new fee or something like that from UPS?

Like Northerner is backordered on some brands, if I ordered it before pact but they don't ship it till after pact, will that cost me more somehow or will customs posibly steal my snus?

Am wondering the exact same thing. Have order in transit from Northerner USA, not due to deliver til the 25th. As a noob to snus-(on), this whole PACT thing has got my friggin head spinning. Please tell me i didn't pick the wrong time to quit cigs. Story of my freakin life..everytime i try to save a buck, it ends up costing me two.

It'll definitely cost more in the future than it does now, but it should still be cheaper than cigarettes, and much better for your health.

I guess you'll have to pay your state taxes on it, and then the UPS brokerage fee, to be paid at delivery, and then you have to be home to sign for the package and show an ID. And then you'll have to submit a copy of your ID, Social Security card, and set of fingerprints, for BATF records.

Who knows? If it's already in transit, it should not be affected in any way. The problem is gonna be like with orders where you requested regular mail for shipping but they don't actually ship it until PACT kicks in. If that's the case, I would guess it will actually be shipped UPS. Hopefully the seller will eat any extra cost in that case. If it's shipping from overseas UPS it could get stuck in customs for a while and you could end up with a brokerage fee from UPS. UPS will be a monopoly for shipping and probably start screwing us over with extra fees, but I hope not.

I'm pretty sure the revenuers will break in your door and arrest/shoot you.

It was nice knowing you. Write when/if you get parole...

IMO, worst case scenario, I suspect that they will just not deliver it if it doesn't meet the rules (they're allow to just not deliver it and to turn it over to LE).

But you'll probably be fine - I can't imagine anyone being too excited about this day 1.

My situation is that I ordered something from Northerner's US warehouse. They are out of thunder frosted (I find out after a week of waiting). And not sure when they will have more. Therefore they may not ship it at all untill after PACT. If this is the case, will I have to pay more before they ship it, even though it was their bad? And will I have to pay a brokers fee to UPS?

What happens if I am not home when it arrives (since I won't be). Can I pick it up from their station?

EDIT: Additionally, I paid for 2nd day air mail through UPS. If it ships after pact, will UPS still get it to me in 2 days, or will it take longer because customs has to mess with my package first?

How can they charge for 2 day shipping if the customs process makes it longer than 2 days?

There is no customs when shipping domestic, as in your case. IMO Northerner should refund the extra you paid for 2 day, and eat any difference between shipping prices between now and when they actually ship it. No matter what, yes, you should be able to pick it up at UPS.

Wait, then who is going to enforce that no contraband snus gets shipped inter-USA? Like if I have a bunch of non FDA approved snus, I can still ship it around the country without problems since no one will be checking? Hold on, I gotta go rent a speedboat and a single engine cesna real quick.

I would ASSUME that the date of the transaction will be what PACT charges are based on....

Last time I made an assumption, it cost me 5 grand....

                      We shall see.......
