    northerner, your slipping

I placed an order with getsnus.com, aka northerner, for 3 rolls of thunder berry sterk. Price was good, tax was correct, and only cost slightly more than pre pact through the former getsnus site. This is all well and good. Now for the bad, it's been 3 days and it still hasn't shipped. My card was charged and they got the money.

When the previous management ran the site, I would already be opening my new box of snus. Now it's still
not shipped out. I don't know what's going on up there in PA, but they need to get their act together.......

Lol, expect at least a month before you get it. Lots of us have been waiting for our thunder as well but it's been a month and still nothing. I waited 3 weeks and then out of the blue they canceled my shipment and refunded me.

It's not really their fault though, v2 has been going slow so northerner isn't getting their shipments.

Why cant they show and in stock or pending status on the item page, BEFORE we place our order. Honestly, other sites have had real time inventory status for years now. This is NOT 1960, was 2010 last time I checked. Do you guys need a real programmer or what?

So you ordered Tuesday? So did I and I had to settle for a bunch of General Whites, which I love, don't get me wrong... but I would've liked to have had some variety. Why didn't I throw a few odd cans in there? EVERYTHING besides the General products the USA plant makes were showing out of stock. At least on the Northerner web site. Apparently GetSnus doesn't show inventory anymore so I would check with Northerner first for availability. My snus got shipped off Wednesday... with a half finished shipping label without my state listed on it. UPS took a day and a half to correct it before I got an origin scan and now I have to wait until Tuesday for my snus due to the holiday while I should have had it this morning. And the kicker? The new label UPS made - they didn't include my apartment number. So now the driver may deem it undeliverable or it'll wind up at the wrong apartment.

Shit happens, I guess. But I DO feel everyone's pain of late with Northerner. They're making some silly mistakes. Our only alternative however is paying tons more for our snus and for shipping at BuySnus or SnusCentral.

Id like to remind you that sm kept all the snus from getsnus, northerner did not get to keep the snus after purchasing the company. So thats another reason.

yah i bought it thinking it was in stock. Then they changed it to 1-3 days, and that was 3 weeks ago. Now i am moving this weekend so i need to change my address with northerner but their customer service dept seems to consist of one drunk guy with a blackberry.

understanding and being good natured is only good to a point. Business is business, and in my line of work , this type of stuff would get you fired in a heartbeat. I just feel it's bad business.

Yeah, but we don't have much choice, either. To an extent we should just be thankful they've decided to adjust and adhere to PACT to keep serving us or we wouldn't have snus at all.

Don't buy that whole "be thankful, nobody else would step up and do it post pact"
Tobacco sales is a lucrative business no matter what. If northerner hadn't stepped up to the plate, you can bet good money someone would have. It's just too profitable to be ignored. Especially with the health implications of cigarette smoking. Whomever gets a majority of control of this budding smokeless market, will stand to become extremely powerful once the market matures.

Right now there is only one intelligent choice to make. and snus is it. Least potential harm.

You have to remember this as well pcguy, Northerner is a small operation, not a big box retailer, and the software package you may be thinking of, SAP, Oracle or a similar application, is a huge investment even for large retailers. A stripped down version of SAP is designed for retailers with 5 to 10,000 SKU's minimum and starts at around $50,000 USD completely implemented. That doesn't include the cost of a few IT guys trying to keep it alive constantly. I know because I have to deal with it every day at my job.

Northerner has just been inundated with the literal flood of orders that have come pre-PACT and it's understandable. I just planned ahead back in May and made a few larger orders so now I don't have to order until August. By then, the dust from PACT will have died down and it'll be business as usual for them, just a bit more expensive thanks to the big O. :-S

I do have to say, I made my last order in like early may and was astonished at the blazing speed and efficiency it was sent to me. Then again there was no thunder in my order, but there was skruf. I don't know what to say except Northerners been balls out for me. Minor **** ups with better recoveries..... I feel for all who are having a hard time, but we all knew pact was gonna be a bitch, and if you didn't or just couldn't place an order in a timely manner... al I can say is , I'm sure everybody feels for ya. I also would almost all but guaranty that Northerner will make it right once the dust settles. Of course I have no horse in this race so I am happily unaffected. I still stand by my previous comments on how good the Northerner "usually" is, but these are "unusual" Times my friends. Would I be pissed in your shoes? Yes. Would I be pissed at the Northerner? Maybe? but if I was true to myself and the world, I'd be pissed at myself for listening to Sage, and not thinking that pact act was not going to change anything. and like I've said before, way before it became truth, the manufacturers are more at fault. I'm not a V2 guy, but it seems to me almost all complaints have to do with V2 product. And once again I give Fred an Fran a lot of credit for not throwing theses guys under the bus and diverting the hate. Just my .02, Peace all, hope you get your snus....

                        "your" should be "you're"

at least get the details right when you vent your PMS

Us snus users are OCD and that thread title is bugging the hell out of me.

I would have liked to seen, "y'all done fell off!"

That would about sum it up.

Lol! I took a chance and placed an order last night (Thursday late) with Getsnus for a roll of skruf tranbar and a few other items including some chaw. Well after I placed the order something hit me and I had to slap myself up side the head literally for not remembering to change the shipping address to work instead of home due to this friggen PACT signature requirement horseshit. So I quickly put in a Contact Us panic email that same night to request the change to the new address before it shipped. Wouldn't you know it the damn thing had already went to shipping when I got a rather quick 'surprise' email from UPS QuantumView whatever.... with tracking and all by mid day Friday. Sad part is they got my order out so quick apparently that the address situation still shows my home.

I already called UPS and by law, they have to make an attempt to deliver and will leave a notation at that time when I'm not at home to sign. I can then call the number and make arrangements to pick it up if I wish and sign for it at the UPS Distribution Center/Store that happens to be between my home and work so in the end this looks like a rather positive experience. We'll see how it unfolds. I can't hardly bitch that they got my order out so quick IF this turns out to be the case as it seems w/o getting my followup request to change address as that was my own damn fault.

                              /Word!
