    For smokeless tobacco packaging, the warning must be located on the two principal sides of the package and cover at least 30 percent of each side.

    Starting July 22, 2010, manufacturers may not distribute any smokeless tobacco product unless its packaging complies with the new warning requirements.

    Found this on the FDA website. So in addition to submitting ingredient lists to the FDA the Snus manufacturers must also make sure their packaging is compliant.
    Wonder how many are willing to do this?

      Honestly, when I placed my order with the new Northerner owned Getsnus a month ago, I got most of my package, except for the V2 snus. I'm totally cool with that, because V2 is a small company, and I can understand that they're having a hard time making their snus fast enough for us. I'm just worried a little, because I can't view my order on the site anymore. I do know that northerner hasn't forgotten about me... but I have started hearing about people who have gotten their V2 snus in the mail finally... without being able to see my order, I can't know for sure if Northerner has been able to send out my order, and it was confiscated by the feds, or if my order just hasn't been mailed out yet. I don't want to actually send an e-mail complaining to Northerner if they're still trying to get the certain types of V2 snus from the company, because I know they're probably swamped with e-mails right now. I DO want to be able to let them know that something's wrong if it HAS been shipped out.

      I can only do this if I am able to view my order, and when I had asked about this a week or so ago, I was told that they should have the old orders back on the site within that day, but no go. So, my issue with Northerner is only the fact that I can't know for sure what's going on with my order. Call me paranoid, but I just want to be 100% sure that I know that my snus is safe and not shipped, instead of being enjoyed by an FDA employee right now.

        I agree with Chad on many points...BUT, Northerner is not a "big" company, we're a growing company. None of us really thought this PACT shit was going to get passed as quickly (if at all) as it did. The web store is Fred's domain, so I don't really try to answer too many issues that arise in that department, because I can't speak for him. I'm not making excuses for us either, but there is far more going on that what is apparent to everyone. Trust me when I say this, Frank, Fred and the entire Northerner team want nothing more than for everyone who orders snus, to get it in a timely manner. The PACT adjustments were made mid stream, and add in the aquisition of Getsnus and a few other changes...things can get hectic with a quickness. Fred is working hard to handle any and all issues that arise, I promise. You and your orders are priority one.

        EVERYTHING, we do as a company is to earn and keep the business of our clients. We are the ONLY store that is truly committed (long term) to ensuring that anyone that wants to purchase snus in the US will have that option. Yes, we've had some issues with the webstore. Fred knows it, Frank knows it, I know it and so does everyone else. I promise that if you've ordered snus and haven't gotten it, you will. If Fred told you that something would be done, it will. If you have any problem whatsoever with an order, send him/me/customer service/god or anyone else a PM and we'll get on it. This has been a tough time for all of us in the snus community due to PACT. Hell, I was downright depressed for a little bit, because I NEVER thought something like this would get passed in the U.S....but here we are. As a company, our post PACT vision is big, and the changes we made are for you...the snus users. Good things coming in the future people, hang in there

        For years Northerner has provided our snus, myself included, with the best prices, widest variety and the best customer service around, and we will continue to do so. All I ask is that you see the big picture....and that is, yes we're having a few hiccups, many of which have already been remedied, others we're working on. When it's all said and done, we'll be selling online and into U.S. brick and mortars. Which is the ultimate goal....providing you with the best snus, priced right and available in your local stores or online. Please forgive the shortcomings of late, and remember that we're working as hard as possible to answer all emails, PM's and phone calls.

          I have been think of going to my local Smoker Friendlies and making a pitch for snus. I dont expect them to carry it but to just get the word out that hey this is a good product that will sell.

          I forgot to add that Im going to stick with Northerner no matter what. I have always received my orders in a timely manner. My only gripe is with what my snus is shipped in. I really dont dig the bags. I would be willing to pay for sturdier shipping containers.

            I've never liked the envelopes. My very first order for the Northerner 24 tin sampler(RIP) came in a box, but every other order from Northerner and Buysnus came in an envelope. I'm not sure why they do it that way, but it seems to be a popular method with the Swedish companies. I'd like it better if everything came in a box.

              **** all of you cocksucker appologists. Not everyome has the money to have a nice stash of 200 cans. Quit being elitist dicks. What if one day they stopped selling cigarretes for a few months, would you sit there on your high horse laughing at all us less fortunates who could not order 200 packs of ciggarets before the shortage?


              New federal and state legislation is passed all the time, and companies big and small adapt to it in a manner that at least vaguely attempts to satisfy the customer.


              In closing, some of us live paycheck to paycheck, so quit YOUR bitching about how everyone should have had a warehouse of snus on reserve, because for some of us that is not an option. We are kind of in the middle of the worst recession in our nations history. I shouldnt have to ask people to give me free shit when i am willing to pay a vendor to legitimately buy it. Will someone please step up to the plate.




              Edit: And some of us DID anticipate this and DID order 200 cans a month before pact, and we still got ****ed. So everyone telling me to quit my bitching, quit your bitching.

                Thank you for this post. I understand that Fred is the webstore guy and if you could get this message to him I would greatly appreciate it. My issue is I have sent a few emails regarding an order that was placed with GetSnus 10 days ago and have not recieved a reply at all. I understand they might be overwhelmed with the whole PACT Act thing however it would be nice if someone would answer an email.

                  Ive had a thread about my order being canceled for days and fred has not responded. I asked rob at team snuson to ask him when he saw him next, i have sent emails to customer service and none of those were successfull in figuring out why my shit was canceled. Rick, thats a cool story bro, but this isnt just about them being out of snus or being slow, its about them flat out ignoring me after i paid them money.


                  Im done with it. Im too pissed to even be posting here, im going to say outtie for a little while untill i can regain my head.

                    My issue with Northerner is one that can and should be fixed for those that are not bound by PACT.

                      I'd love to live in your world where software apparently works perfectly, cause in my world even MS puts out buggy software after hundreds of thousands of people have beta tested it. I'd also like to hear about the ease of dealing with tax laws. You have CA, and USA, with a fill in the blank questionnaire once per year. Try multiplying that by 50, and dealing with 100% brand new laws. On top of all that, you have to handle manufacturer shortages, and dealing with companies that won't sell to the USA regardless of law. THEN, after you're tired of hassling with the USA, and it's retarded laws, you can start thinking about the rest of the world which you also sell to.

                      So in short, you have no idea what Northerner's dealing with behind the scenes. As soon as you run a multinational company dealing with verboten merchandise, I'll be happy to hear your complaints. Oh, btw. **** you too ;^)

                                Look bro, didn't your order get cancelled and money refunded? I know it would have been better to get your snus, but better to get your cash back than Northerner to hold it until we got the snus from the manufacturer. It's difficult for me to even comment on this because I'm not certain what has happened or been promised by Fred.
                                Maybe you could fill me in via PM and we'll get this sorted out for you.

                                The last thing we/I want is for you to be dissatisfied with us as a company in any way, so shoot me a PM brother.
