    New SwedishSnus.com Website! - Sep 8, 2010

Dear customer, welcome to our new online shop! Many new features and products have been added, so you will have a more pleasant and more convenient shopping experience, as well as a much larger selection of Snus to choose from. We hope you’ll like it!

The first and most obvious change: You no longer need to select “Rest of World” or “USA”, when you enter our Shop. Instead, an IP-feed automatically detects your shipping country. If it should fail, you can still select the right one manually at the very top of the page.

    All Changes in Detail:

Shipping to EU countries is now supported You live in a EU country and would like to order Snus? No longer a problem, we are now able to supply you, too.

Almost 100 new products now available We are pretty sure that you will find the one or the other new and interesting Snus for you!

Repeating orders is now possible You no longer need to go through the whole ordering process again. You may simply select one of your last orders under “My Account” and repeat it conveniently.

Save money on shipping costs In your shopping cart view, you will now get to see how much Snus you can add to your order before you reach the next shipping cost interval.

Use your own wishlist Manage your favorite items on your wishlist and make notes if you like. With a wishlist, you can order your favorite items much faster, without the need to navigate to each item one after another.

Review and Rate Products Let others know which Snus you like and which you don’t like. By rating products and writing reviews, you can add your very personal view and opinion.

Tag products Help other customers find what they are looking for by adding appropriate tags to the different Snus products.

Social Bookmarking Spread the word on SwedishSnus.com and on new products and campaigns by letting the people in your network know, too.

Compare products Undecided which Snus is the right one for you? Simply compare the products and their features!

More product information We added a whole bunch of information to all products, such as taste, nicotine content and strenght.

Manufacturer and brand information To tell you the whole story about the unique products we are offeirng, we also added some background information on the different brands and manufacturers.

Grid view, for a more convenient shopping experience With the new grid view, you can more easily grasp the large variety of different Snus products we offer.

Select your currency While the base currency we use is Swedish Kronor, you can have prices displayed in EUR or USD, too.
Our US-customers, please note: We made Swedish Kronor our base currency, so you will experience price fluctuations over time, depending on the exchange rate. We decided this is still the best way to go, as the only alternative would have been to adjust prices every now and then, whenever the exchange rate has changed noticeable. Also, to facilitate the process of your goods moving through customs, US customers will always have the prices displayed in USD.

Last but not least, we have to inform you that we had to raise prices. When we took over SwedishSnus.com in November 2009, we made no price changes, to assure a smooth transition for you. However, unlike Swedish Match who operated this shop basically on a pro bono base, to spread the word on their products in the world, we see ourselves unable to continue with prices partially below cost (!). And there have been price increases by manufacturers this year, too. That’s why we were eventually forced to raise prices to a reasonable level. Please be assured that we still looked left and right when we did this, to make sure that SwedishSnus.com still offers you the best price in terms of total cost. Therefore we e.g. have left the shipping prices unchanged. We thank you very much for your understanding!

    Best Regards, Your SwedishSnus.com team

        Hi there,

$30 may appear to be much, but it isn't. Relative UPS shipping costs drop a lot with weight. So while you pay $30 for a small package, you may not pay substantially more for a lot of more weight.
Frankly, despite great volume discounts, this is not even always covering our costs for shipping to the US at the moment. For our US customers, the UPS shipments are sent DDP. So the total you pay includes, besides pure shipping costs: Disbursement fees, Government fees, duties and sometimes even an additional (arbitrary) FDA inspection, which alone comes in at around $20. The requirement for an adult signature to be collected further adds to the costs.

We are keeping a low stock to provide as fresh as possible merchandise. Therefore we get daily deliveries from e.g. Swedish Match. I don't know of any other retailer who does that. Now you may want to compare total cost (cans and shipping), and also freshness of an order delivered by us, to one where the merchandise was first purchased in Sweden, then stored, then shipped across the ocean, then stored again and then eventually - one day - shipped to you.

I fully understand that shipping used to be cheaper, we don't like this either. But in the end, summing it all up, we still believe that our customers get a a lot of value for what they are paying. And with ordering some rolls, not even the cost per can is something one - normally - can complain about. Differnet people have differnet price sensitivities and some may want to go with the cheapest price possible by all means, fair enough. I personally prefer to look at what I am getting for my money and then I am making up my mind whether if it's worth it to me, or not. As I said, this everyone has to decide for himself.

        Have a good one!

Thanks for joining us on this forum. I love to hear from store owners and your presence shows that you care about your customers. I know that the shipping costs are not your fault but they still suck. Add to that the taxes that we are also supposed to pay now and snus is very expensive. I am really hoping that the postal part of the PACT Act will be struck down eventually. I don't mind either paying a tax or a high shipping fee but really can't afford to pay both.

            Hello Armin,

I suggest you guys do Mix rolls: 10 random cans of portion or loose for a discounted price. This way you can move leftover cans from opened rolls while giving new snus users an opportunity to get a good variety of snus from both the high-end and low-end price range.

Also, I understand the branding regulations for Swedish Lucky Strike and Camel snus, but why is Gustavus included?

            Thanks!

Glad to see you here. I will be ordering from someone who sells Skruf when my
PACT Act stash runs low. That will not be for a year or so.

I find that even if I have to pay more it is still a much better value than
cigarettes and I'm not inhaling tobacco.

Do you plan to add more accessories? I only see one item now. Will you
have the Icetool Portion Snus Can?

              Thanks for being here!

I agree with you on the inhaling tobacco part Joe but I am not sure about the value anymore. lets see. 2 rolls of snus = $60.00, shipping = $30.00, state tax = $10.00. So 20 cans of snus is $100.00. Now I do know that 20 cans of snus should last longer than 20 packs of smokes but I still do not see this as cheap.

Even at $7.00 a can it's much cheaper than cigarettes for me. My state tax is $2.14 a can, I believe.

I figure at 10 portions daily I use no more than 3 cans a week. That would be $21 at $7 a can.
Cigarettes would cost me about $35 a week smoking a pack a day at $5 a pack.

Or about 80-85 bucks vs 140-150 bucks a month.

I just might have to agree with you Owens on this one. $30.00!!! is that all you came up with... Try more like $40.60 shipping for the mock order I just put in their cart for the same order i placed at SnusCentral of 35 cans and SnusCentral's shipping cost for that order was $30.31... Why would i pay more? Also My mock order on swedishSnus didn't include the Icetool that I paid $34.59 for and the order came up only a few dollars shy of what I paid, If SwedishSnus even had an Icetool for that amount I would be paying over $30 more than what i just got my order for....

Armin, Thanks for joining us on this forum. glad to hear from the store owner and your presence shows that you care about your customers. You have a nice site there with great features, and a great selection of snus, But that is where it stops, In my opinion I think your shipping cost to the U.S. is going to be too rich for most on this forum. Folks here are looking for better cost per roll and can along with lower shipping or at least competetive with others that we use not higher... I also don't think most are looking to buy 60 - 100 cans or 6 - 10 rolls here... I put in my mock order of 35 cans and the shipping came to $40.60 I don't know of any other retailer who does that... I and other's here get some of the freshest snus and can be seen by our bast before dates...

Here is what BuySnus and SnusCentral have to say about the freshness of the snus they sell...

From Buy Snus who ships for SnusCentral... " We get deliveries from the producer several times per week so the snus is always as fresh as it could be. As a result you are always guaranteed to get perishable goods directly sent home to you ''.

From SnusCentral.... " To guarantee you the absolute freshest snus possible, facilitation of SnusCENTRAL.com orders originate in Sweden: our facilitation center is located at 53102 Lidkoping, Sweden. There, we receive fresh shipments of snus from the manufacturers multiple times per week".

They also say.... We pay the appropriate duties and government fees up front for you by using the UPS DDP (Delivery and Duty Paid) service.

We are not buying it from other retailers just because it's cheap But in the end, summing it all up, you ned to be more competitive and lower your per can and roll cost for us U.S. Customers if you can't lower your shipping to compete here.

I tried a mock order a few days ago. It will tell you how many more cans you can add in your postage tier before
                        the rate increases.
