Swedish Match offering free snus chillers to retailers

New tobacco shop just opened up near me so I asked if they carried Swedish snus. The clerk ask me if it would be something I would be interested in because Swedish Match is offering free snus coolers to retailers. The fact that retailers don't have to invest in a cooler would probably make them more likely to order one. Let your local tobacco shops know!

Smart move on the part of SM... having to invest in a cooler, I'm sure,
would be a major turn-off for most retailers having to deal with a product
that at present time is iffy to say the least.

"Let your local tobacco shops know!" ...
Swedish Match should provide a means for end-users to suggest shops
that should be approached with the offer of a free chiller (and skip the
hassle of intrusive sign-ins to do it)!

This sounds like it would be trampling on the toes of the Northerner's franchising efforts. If Northerner and SM are conducting separate marketing drives that will surely lead to confusion and pointless duplication of effort. Because of this I'm a tad skeptical of this report. Hounding the local tobacconist is a good idea though for any number of reasons.

This might actually be in conjunction with Northerner ... might have
something to do with Northerner's takeover of Getsnus.

Hey, Rick, any word on this?

I agree and I will be stopping by my local tobacco shop and letting them know tomorrow, For what good it will do as i asked them before if they can get General Snus and said their distibutor said he couldn't, But i will be persistant anyway...

Sweet more snus is good, now if they had more than 6 varieties and something with more than 8mg of nicotine and for oh 4.50-5.00 vs. 6.50 in cali 7.99 in Wa. I'd buy snus locally.

I wonder if SM is just offering the free counter top coolers or the larger free standing ones also for free to retailers... I would think just the counter top... But would be good if they also offered the larger coolers for free to those shops that have the counter top ones and sell more and want to upgrade to the larger cooler..

There is nothing unusual about the offer of a free cooler, they usually have strings attached with some kind of agreement. Pepsi and Coke do it all the time. Those coolers are a form of advertising, you get guaranteed product placement out where customers can see your product, instead of hidden on the shelf or under the counter.

It is nice to see Swedish Match is out in the field trying to sign up new retailers.

I'd like to see them in bars and restaurants, you know, those places that have smoking bans.
