    2) It seems Gotlands market analysis has convinced them that los is not where they want to place their time or investments. I guess they feel that it is a niche market and that market is not expanding nor has the potential to expand at the rate that the market for portions does. Therefore they focusing on the Jackobson line (all portions) and not introducing any new los

I also believe that they feel this analysis was backed up by the sale figures for Gul.

I would counter with two points

    1) produce a superior and unique los and capture shares of an already existing market (If Gotlands offered me the choice between Plain and say Roda.....I'd buy the plain.......whereas now........without that choice........I will buy the Roda)

    2) the sale of Gul may be due to other factors..............a few years back it seemed to me that they changed the grind of the gul..............I do no know if there was an ingredient change along with that...........but what I can tell you is that after that it seemed much more bitter (not in an herbal way but in an aftertaste way). I can also tell you that before that Gul was one of the most recommended snuses on the forum.................after that it had a few loyal users but was seldom one of the first things people would reccomend.................or even discuss much.

The point is..............I think los is still a viable market if done right (you may have to think outside the box a bit on it) but one thing you must do is put out a superior and unique snus. Both Green and Plain fit this bill and I sincerely believe.............and I think this thread has shown.........that both would succeed if given a chance.

That's my take..............maybe Jimmy will pop in and give you the actual reason
First i would like to say, thx for the great respond on the snus.

"SnusDog" you are spot-on. i can´t tell much more then that..
But i will not close any doors for the future on this flavors, we have made the CEO to soften i little bit on this manner.

I also have to say that the PLAIN-SNUS sample you recived was our snus without any flavours at all.. that means that the PLAIN-SNUS is the tru way that snus tastes without any flavours!
(There is no brand on the market today that sells onflavoured snus.! and for you to try our high quality snus without (as others) hidding any deviations with flavors.. Gotlandssnus is also the rare company that doesn´t hide things in the snus with Smokeflavor)

That is the number one reason I love your snus so much....no smoke and serious quality.

For a "plain" tobacco there is a fantastic flavor.

Now.....how do I get more and who do I send the check to?

Fisrt thing first... Get it approved by CEO and selling this snus idea to him
Then FDA register.. So if and only if it would be a go for Gotlandssnus it could take some 6-12 months

Send me his email. I will do the paperwork for you for free.

12 months is a wait I could easily live with knowing what will be at the end of it.

            Jimmy,

Thank you for sending the samples to everyone and thank you for letting the CEO know about how much we love this snus.

I think the response has been an overwhelming testimony about how good you are at your job..........you and the people at Gotlands make some very very good snus

Also, thanks for being a part of our forum................it means a lot to us...............you are a part of the snuson family and we really appreciate it
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Got my samples yesterday! I took them over to my father's house, and we settled down to a night of snus sampling and baseball. Here's our conclusion...

Jimmy, Dad wants you to know that he's an Ettan Los guy and has been since we kicked the cigs the first of the year. He's totally willing to kick the Ettan, too...assuming you make your Plain Los available. That stuff is great! Love the grind, love the taste, love everything!

As for the Flader, the most remarkable thing to me is how different it tastes than the portions. Lets be clear...I think the Flader portions are crap. I hate the herbal taste, I'm the same way about Goteborgs Rape. For some reason, the portion format prevents the flavors from all coming through at the same time. The Flader Los is DELICIOUS! I would have a constant can open in my fridge for my after dinner enjoyment, that's guaranteed!

I totally agree with the previous poster who suggested a limited edition Kardus-esque run of Plain and Flader. On the other hand, if these became available, Pops and I would probably account for 5-10 rolls sold per year. Hey, it's a start!

Thanks for the samples Jimmy, this snus is great and has made me reconsider the junk that I'm using now.

Here's a question for you Jimmy, is the tobacco mix the same for the flader los and the portions?

Flader Los would even make me purchase an icetool!

No i´ts not the same! (i can´t tell you more about that) but what i can tell you is that the tobacco for loose is more fine grinded becoulse of the baking.
the recipe is regarding nicotine and bitterness, that comes out different then in portions.

I guess that rules out buying portions and cutting them open. Hopefully the CEO's give you a green light and start production again.
