I noticed when I was in Sweden, towns close to Swedish Match factories were saturated with SM products, but the farther out you go the selection gets better.

Originally posted by lxskllrI disagree with this. The Gotlandssnus name can be used as the premier name for special products. It's the house name, and there's no disconnect with using it in conjunction with other brand names. It shows pride in who you are, and puts your name to the forefront. Perfect for products that are better, or different than the standard release. It doesn't matter if it's /actually/ better, or not. That's the marketing message you convey.
Swedish Match couldn't market gold bullion to a mobster. I wouldn't use them as an example for anything, unless you aspire to be a monopolist.
All in all, I think your marketing company has done a good job with the Jakobsson's name. They hit all the points I'd hit on regarding history, and tradition, and the tie in with Henrik's pedigree is a nice touch. The can graphics are first rate, and the tins have a distinctive design. Yesterday, I was admiring the label on the Jakobsson's mint. Very nice. It has a turn of the century appeal, with good font selection, and layout.
Is the Jakobsson's tin better than the Gotlandssnus tin? Define better. It's a prettier tin, but not as functional. Anyone who uses the Gotlandssnus tin recognizes the superiority of it's functional design. It might not be as eye catching for the n00bs, but those that know prefer function.
This can work with the marketing concept I stated above. Use the old name with the old tins for the special snus. No marketing, no bullshit. This is our special snus. That's why we put our name on it, and put it in the best tins we have. This snus is for the people that care about what really matters.
As far as lössnus sales prospects goes... You need to create the demand. If other companies are ignoring it, that means there's more room for you. Lössnus has a fairly hardcore following. Capitalize on that, and make the best lössnus in the industry. You don't have to sell it in every convenience store in the USA to be a success. Keep it in the tobacco shops, and high end liquor stores. Make it exclusive, like a good cigar. People aren't going to the 7-11 to buy good cigars, yet good cigars still sell. Each product category can bolster the other. Even if you aren't getting rich off lössnus, you're grabbing mindshare. Gotlandssnus for the premium market, Jakobsson's for every day.../Jimi

Originally posted by BlueSaintAbout 2 hours from Stockholm with car, but it seems like it's the smaller shops who sells these products in the cities, because if you go to the bigger ones like ICA Maxi they only sell Swedish Match.
How about prize in bigger stores, i allways get my snus from Nuuskakairan Tukku in haparanda so i have no idea about prize in general, which is cheapest place, do you have any idea!?Asking cause i have planning to visit Sweden someday at holiday.

Asking cause i have planning to visit Sweden someday at holiday. For the rest like Gotlandssnus the price is around the same in the shops I've been in, but might be more difference in price beacuse the owner of the shop is the one who sets the price, as sharesnus wrote.
