Any plans to produce a long cut traditionally flavored snus in Sweden?
Long cut snus in Sweden?

Producing anything more than a limited run specialty long cut would require a major purchases of new equipment and a commitment to setting up new production lines. Swedish snus and long cut are not compatible from a manufacturing standpoint. Swedish snus is ground and sifted, where as long cut snus is cut so producing a long cut snus in large quantities would require investing a lot of money and setting up a separate production line just to handle long cut. We're also seeing a move away from lössnus and more people using portions so if anything Sweden seems to be moving in the wrong direction to produce a long cut.
Here's an idea though, how about a long cut snus produced on the production lines in America where they are already set up to produce long cut tobacco using the Swedish recipe and then export it to Sweden.

I actually didn't think about the manufacturing process, that's a very valid point.
A Red Man (or Copenhagen/Skoal) long cut snus product with fermented tobacco and a low TSNA level would sell very well in Sweden. A lot of us swedes would love something different, especially something similar to American dip.

lol it's probably because they don't know how to use it correctly. In the beginning I would try to bake a prilla for a solid 10 minutes before putting it my mouth, getting it all over the place and going back to the bathroom.
Then I learned that you just pinch it and put it in your mouth and all has been great since then. I think snus should also have that burning feeling and the enhanced taste like cope does, feels so good.

1. Kardus (limited edition and expensive, obviously)

I actually bought a roll of Thunder Long Cut the other day, it should be here by Tuesday. I also got a big shipment of various Cope/Skoal coming in on Wednesday.
Have you tried the Thunder Long Cut? Any good? I heard a lot of mixed reviews about it.

I've tried various kinds of Offroad longcut and it's different from american dip tobacco
there's something that makes it different, not sure what
I've had problems keeping it packed in my lip, but got used to it in time

It's probably because of the difference in the manufacturing process (firecured american vs fermented swedish).
I would really enjoy a snus made with the same semi-sweet natural taste.

I've heard about it being similar to Copenhagen because it's a bit more coarse, but frankly I wouldn't even compare them. The cut is completely different as well as the taste. I love me some hickory sweetness!
Isn't it ironic how we in Sweden want American brands and you guys want more snus?

I don't see any reason they couldn't make a RedMan long cut using snus air cured tobacco and adding the flavoring as a top dressing to make authentic Swedish Style snus.
(I picked RedMan as an example because they are owned by Swedish Match)

The biggest difference is the use of fire cured tobacco (more TNSAs) and a lot more ingredients being used in the sauce during the cooking process.

I would permanently snus a Redman long cut snus as long as it had that seasoning flavor i've grown to love.
Petition anyone?
