Attention Snus Companies

When will one of you all step up and be brave enough to release a copy of one of the great snus' that has left us such as Landstroms, Gellivare, Gotlands Gul, some of the V2 offerings.

Even if it is a seasonal release.

I feel like this is the only way to get some of these back as those companies need to see the error of their ways.

Here's one for Swedish Match: Add a new facility to your current U.S. one (Pinkerton Tobacco) to make real snus here in the states. I don't know for sure, but I suspect it would be much cheaper for all of us here if it was produced here with all of the import taxes and such. Snus is an ever expanding market here and I think it would be good for both you and the consumer.

What I want to know is why are you all not doing enough to fight the EU snus ban? Think of the markets that will open up when its lifted!! Then I can pop down to the shop and buy Oden's and be happy!

GN, my only complaint for you is that you love Russia more than the rest of the snus population. Russia gets all the new flavors. That said, I like your Original flavor so much, I'm willing to let you slide on it. Otherwise, you do make an amazing product and it is more than reasonably priced. Don't ever change because I have never been so impressed with a snus company.

This isn't GN's fault...it's the FDA's fault. They require each manufacturer to file an application that proves the new flavor is substantially equivalent to one that's already on the market. Then the FDA has 180 days to "approve or deny" said application, BUT....the FDA has NEVER approved one of these applications to date and some companies have had products in the pipeline for over a year. This is their way of keeping new tobacco products or new flavors of existing products (including snus) off the market.

This being said, I do believe that they will have to begin reviewing these SE applications soon, due to increasing pressures from the BIG boys. Maybe then we'll see some of the new snus flavors being distributed here in the US.

Sadly it does not rhyme with cranyt, LMAO. But I'm talking about the companies that currently import to the US for distribution through retail channels. Once the FDA does start approving these applications, we'll pick up some of the new flavors for distribution.

Still waiting on GN to chime in on the original question of why do other companies not take a chance on old school snus' or favorites that others discontinued in their own way.
