Dear all,

Questions regarding which products that we introduce in US pop up from time to time and while we sadly can't provide you with any timeline it is very interesting to hear what you say.

There are several factors that affects our US offer and one is certainly the input that we get here. While we can't promise that the outcome will result in direct changes in our offer we decided to launch a poll here to see which products in the General line that you would like to have available in US.

Hope to get your input here. We will then have some quantified data from Snuson to take into account as we go further in US.

We set the poll to be open for 30 days.

Really though, whatever it is going to be, make sure it has more nic in it than what is currently available.

My vote is for Onyx.

I'd love to see Onyx available in the U.S., so voted that way.

One thing I'd like to mention, though, is that you might even consider launching another brand or two outside of the General line.

The reason I mention this is that I'm not sure that the General flavor profile will be as popular here in the U.S. as it is in Scandinavia.

Copenhagen is more or less the most popular smokeless brand here in the U.S. If you launched something like Ettan or Grov along with General, you might find that it sells as good or even better than General.

General Ekstra Sterk Loose

I am biased though as Gen ES Los is one of my most used snus. I average 15 cans/month. And while you're at it, can we get some stores in the NE US that carry General....any Genreal will do. Right now there are zero within 100miles of Boston. Not that it's an issue when we can get it delivered from PA in 3 days...but if my local store carried it I would buy spend my money there just to support the market.

The only snus in the the General line that I use regularly are General Original Portion and General ES Portion, so I vote for General ES Portion!

I'd like to see GES Loose, but voted for GES Portion because I'd hate to see ONYX win.

I do agree with Spirit72 about a non-General push as well.

I vote Onyx. I think the market will be more accepting of it, and the flavor is distinctly different from the other General offerings. With the right POS displays, you could showcase the "premium" aspect, and give snus an upscale appearance while differentiating it from American smokeless tobacco.

I agree with going outside the general line. Ettan white or Grovsnus white could do very well in the US. Even Tre Ankare may do okay.

General white and wintergreen are among my go-to snuses. But then I'm not a sterk person so didn't vote.

Now, my vote is for General Sterk White, and that is because this is now my number 1 fave snus. That may change someday though. Also, I have not yet tried Onyx, or General Extra Sterk Portions. I also have not tried the Los varieties. I'm just not connecting with los these days. I like all the General I have tried, though I'm not a mini-mint fan, but I do like the Wintergreen. But the General Sterk White is awesome, better than Claq Qui, which is great too, and better than Skruf Stark White.

But I have not been to any local speciality tobacco stores to buy snus, just US brands at local gas station.

I would like to see General do what they have to do to make it not needed to refrigerate the cans, maybe drop the snus in a foil and then can, and have them available next to Redman at the local grocery and gas station. Then, I would be more apt to buy locally.

My local cigar shop claims to be flooded with requests for Onyx. I show off various snus types to them when I go there so they can see what they're missing, but Onyx is the one they hear about the most.

I think it would find the most acceptance in the US as well. While I'd love to be able to buy sterks, I think the classy elegance of Onyx coupled with the smooth look of the portion would be a good selling point here.

One guy I talked to said that the problem with southeastern VA is that we're full of rednecks, which means people who like to spit. Whether that is true or not, a more defined portion could go a long way with the "Town Centre" crowd.

I voted for General Ekstra Sterk portion because it would help smokers convert to using snus, since the nicotine delivery is very efficient, even for daily smokers.

As well, marketing General Onyx would be a good idea, since it would stand out as a luxury product in the General line.

How are sales of General snus in America? I have never bought General snus at a retailer, due to price and taxation differences when compared to internet sites.

I've never bought it here due to no one selling it. I went to a tobacco store the other day to buy some cloves since they are going away in October, and asked the guy if he sold snus. He said yes, and pointed to the Camel. I said no real snus. He said you can't buy it in America. I pulled out a can of General White, and he asked where I got it. I replied online, there are stores in America that sell it. Another customer asked what snus was. The shopkeeper said it was spitless tobacco from Norway. :roll: I corrected the shopkeeper. If I could buy it locally I would.

If we were not able to order online anymore, I would kill for Onyx then. A sterk with awesome flavor....game ON. Adding that to the mix in the US would ease my fear of online ordering being taken from me.
