    Which leads me to wonder...

Why not look at sales volume and produce a smaller amount?

Some money is better than no money.

      Hi,

Equalling production volume to sales volume is not really the issue. It is a matter of the economies of scale. Small production volumes equal higher costs that are adressed to the activity. The two of us would naturally have loved to tell you that we could save Claq Qui but as it didn't perform sufficiently there is little we can do.

Yep, I'm going to miss Claq Qui, but I've got my half roll in, probably get another roll and a half before it's gone.

I do think we're starting to expect a little too much of Joakim and Markus, though. I forget their exact positions, but if I recall correctly, they aren't the two lords of Swedish Match. And they've probably got share holders to please as well. Much as I liked this snus, Swedish Match is a business. Not every great product will succeed, especially in a market where consumers tend to be very brand loyal.

Besides, just think about ten years from now. We'll all be able to act all curmudgeonly and say, "You youngsters these days don't know nothing 'bout that there snus. Now Claq Qui, that was a man's snus!" when they start praising their new grande mocha latte flavoured generals portions.

I spoke to a gentleman today who had a tin of General los sitting in front of him. He was a Swede but had no knowledge of my favorite snus. He had heard of Rhoda Lacket though. I think it might be that there was no los Claq Qui but that's just a guess. He offered me a pinch. I declined and flashed him the Clac bag I was sucking. I then pulled a box of Lowenprise out of my pocket. Blah Blah Blah...No more Claq Qui = YOU suck. haha

When i made my usuall visit across the bridge to Malmo in december i didn't see any Claq Qui in any of the stores, maybe why it didn't sell?
It will be missed, though northerner.com got another order out of me so i could get some more.

I panicked today whilst at work. I had my last and only can of ClaQ Qui by my bedside last night. Made it me midnight snus. Woke up this morning and shoved the can in my jogging pants and proceeded to the shower room to change into my work pants. Grabbed my latest rotation out of the fridge consisting of my normal 4 cans portion / 1 can lös snus and low and behold got to work and reached for my ClaQ Qui and it was nowhere to be found.

Literally dumped out my briefcase, pulled my pants down and searched every pocket and creavis, ran out to my car and practically tore the damn seat apart along with the console. Raced home after work also remembering this damn double barreled snowstorm we got in the past 5 days giving a total of like 2 feet of snow, finally breaking into tears thinking my Claq Qui is lost in the snow until spring melt.

Wouldn't you know upon taking a piss and looking over my shoulder, there folded up was my sweatpants and in the pocket my ClaQ Qui!

                  I Love happy endings...

I just became aware of this. This is terrible. I've only been using snus for a few months now, but Claq Qui is my hands down favorite. *sigh* Anyone suggest anything similar?

Hey xhepera, thanks for keeping this topic at the top of the list! Maybe it will keep Joakim & Markus reporting back to headquarters about our continued displeasure of this discontinuation decision.

                      Probably not, but oh well.

CQ is/was my favorite portion snus as well, and I have not been able to find anything comparable.

Perhaps as a consolation Joakim and Markus could give us the Claq Qui recipe, and we could make our own with a bucket of SnusX

                        must...order...roll...of....claq...qui.

Is it the production that will stop at the end of this month?.....meaning it should still be available for a few months afterward?

I've got a couple of cans of Claq Qui on order, while it's still available, just because I was curious to see what all the fuss was about. There have been a lot of good points made in this thread, but I understand where J & M are coming from. With a big company, shifting production lines costs serious money, both in terms of producing a product with lower sales volume, as well as taking away production and revenue from top-selling brands. Smaller companies like V2 can handle rapid changes better, hence the return of Coffee/Vanilla. It's unfortunate for everybody involved, but those are the realities of business.

On the brighter side, maybe one day when snus sales in North America are bigger, snus manufacturers can think about opening factories on this continent. Those plants could cater specifically to US and Canadian tastes, and not have to worry so much about European sales figures.
