Regarding your wood tin. I think you'd have to line it with metal or plastic so the wood doesn't absorb all the moisture from the snus. I think it's very doable though, and you don't need a screw top. I don't know what you have in the way of woodworking skills(mine are few), but if you went with the traditional coffin shape(Landströms), that would ease a lot of the technical problems. You do do a slider top like is on Patrick Collin's snuff boxes(also on head shop merchandise), or various clips and clamping mechanisms. For a round tin, you could have a single screw pivot in the top edge, and have the slid rotate in a partial tongue and groove formation on the tin body. There's a bunch of ways you could make a nice tin out of wood.

Interesting ideas though. Especially making one similar to the nasal snuff boxes. Heck if you made a round tin and had those sliding lids you mention you could also make it so the lid is split into two different pieces so that you could have a two compartment snus box. Think Ying Yang symbol. The only thing is that if a person was making these they would have to be careful and make it so they weren't to heavy. I have done some wood working and when you get to the point of the wood being thin as it would have to be so it would be light and still able to hold sufficient snus they might be fragile as all get out.

The above can is a Swedish Match can, General Mint. The warning is on the side of the can and on the catch lid. This was done by SwM.
The two cans on top are Olde Viking (Original). They have a warning label put on by Northerner. (it has their SnusDistribution.com link on it).
The bottom one is Offroad Frosted from V2, and their warnings are done as part of the label now, I believe.

I could live with the warning on the lid, but the side panel warning is going too far. I guess I'll be de-stickering all my post FDA tins. For SM lös, I'll have to transfer it to old Gotland tins. I have some inkjet bumper sticker kits. I don't know how well they work, but I'll try printing my own stickers for the Gotland tins.
