Warning lables that Northerner puts on the can

I've been snusing for awhile, 6 months or more, and I have always bought from the northerner. I remember before this whole PACT-Act situation that they only had small lables on the side that could be pulled off. Now, there are huge lables on the top and on the side which can not be pealed off because they peal the lable off the can makeing it ugly. Plus it is hard as hell to open with that sucker on the side. Hell, I tried to pull it off the catch lid on my General Onyx can, and it took some of the paint off of it. I'm wondering, are all online snus stores going as far with the warning lables as the Northerner is?

The manufacturer is putting those labels on, not Northerner.

Part of the new bullcrap FDA regs.

That really does suck. I can't complain much though because I'm still able to get snus and snus has helped me quit Copenhagen, which was tearing up my gums something horrible.

snus has far less fiberglass in it.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

          Yeah, it does suck.

That's why I saved a few empty cans of my favorites. So I don't have to use the ones with the oversized warning labels.

Actually I haven't found a snus yet that has any fiberglass in it. Now dip, that's another story and I reckon Copenhagen is one of the players in the "Owen's Corning" stock game.

.. I am going to try a tin of Grizzly 1900 LC after work if the Sheetz actually carries this one. I heard it is more of a mud dip and maybe a chance there is little or no fiberglass init.

I think Northerner does actually put those labels on. Fredrik mentioned the labeling machine is running night and day in another thread...

I bet northerner is getting tired of chaseing it. lol

That makes sense. Other countries don't require the huge labels so why would a manufacturer label all of them with the huge labels if they don't need to. But the distributor needs to comply with all the legal issues regarding the different countries it ships to.

Regardless who puts them on, it's the government that's requiring them. Probably some manufacturers are now putting them on, and more will do so in the future, and, in the meantime, retailers are having to put labels on cans that don't already have them. I can attest that Swedish Match is now putting the labels on General products. Last week I bought a bunch of General cans locally, and they all had the new labels. Apparently, they also had to rejigger the mechanism for their catch lid, making it much less user-friendly.

(The tobacconist also now has to keep the General fridge locked. Ironically, for many months I had been buying General there and asking the clerks to open the fridge and get what I wanted until one of them finally told me, you know, it's unlocked and you can just help yourself. So this last time I go in and I spend a couple minutes yanking on the now-locked fridge door looking like an idiot.)

Yeah but just because there's a label on it doesn't mean SM put it there...Just sayin'.

Edit: Oh they re-jiggered the lid too. So they probably did. I wonder if they are putting those labels on non USA shipped snus?

I've heard buysnus is just putting these into a bag with the warnings on the bag.

This probably won't work as a long-term solution, but if you want unlabeled cans you might be able to get some this way.

lol buysnus already figured out a temporary solution.

I have about a million unlabeled cans. Some empty and some sealed. But they are all coffe/vanilla

I believe this is just for the smaller stick on labels that they had to put on because the manufacturers weren't doing it at the time.

I believe all snus that will be available to the US (submitted the FDA) has to come from the manufacturer with the warning now.

Also, the warnings on the new General cans are now an "integrated" part of the actual General label, so it's pretty clearly done by SM. No idea if they're doing the same for snus sold outside the U.S. Of course, for many years, cigarette makers have had to put different government-mandated warning labels on packs sold in different countries.
