    Red Man Select Chewing Tobacco

Driving home today, I stopped at a local filling station and saw that they had an assortment of chewing tobaccos available. I decided to give it a try, and bought a pouch of Red Man Select.

I'd never chewed before, so I didn't quite know what to expect. It had a very moist, almost syrupy texture to it. It was a dark black color, and smelled quite a bit like raisins. It had a strong, sweet flavor, a kind of cross between tobacco/molasses/raisins. It didn't seem to be very strong as far as nicotine content, but the taste was great, and it was an enjoyable experience. I doubt I'll pick up another bag, as it is inconvenient to use when on the go and produces a large quantity of spit, but I'll certainly enjoy this one while it lasts!

After a couple more chaws and some time to experience it, I have to say that the overwhelming sweetness gives way to a smokey, almost BBQ flavor which isn't altogether undesirable. There is a slight burn, but nothing overwhelming. The flavor seems to fade pretty quickly, actually. I still don't notice very much of a nicotine kick, so it's a bit on the weak side when compared with snus and snuff. Still, for the taste and price, it's a pretty good buy in my opinion.
