Swedish Snus Mentioned In Article From UK Chemist Chain

    http://www.webmd.boots.com/smoking-c...keless-tobacco

I think this is the 1st time a UK company has put it's name to an article which discusses Swedish snus.

Of course snus is lumped in with all demonic forms of smokless tobacco but I was surprised to see it all the same.

(Boots is a big chain of chemists in the UK)

This article actually made me angry - again. Completely false information once again. "Smokeless tobacco is addictive" - and when they'd finished with that they promoted their Nicorette at 25 quid a pop.

            Tossers.

"Snuff, which is less common in the UK these days, is finely ground tobacco that you sniff up your nose."

"Chewing tobacco and snuff can turn your teeth yellowish-brown and give you bad breath."

Nasal snuff can turn your teeth yellow and cause bad breath? Ha!

                Smokeless tobacco isn't addictive?

                  Depressing

As long as the groups and organisations such as Boots (and the EU) continue to class all smokeless tobacco in the same category, we're not really helped by articles such as this, save for publicity which might make people actually do some research on the subject. Ignorance on this issue really sucks.

I am not happy with this information on the Boots website. You can email them here. I'm going to.

                      Just sent them this:

Your information on smokeless tobacco is incorrect and actually very dangerous. If the truth from reports such as the Royal College of Physicians one from 2007 were presented you could actually save many smokers lives but instead you just self-servingly promote your nicotine products.

You need to re-read the sentence noting full stops. Maybe I should have used a new paragraph.

Snus hasn't stained my teeth in the slightest, or made my breath smell. I was using snus on the quiet for months before I told my wife and she never noticed a damn thing.

                            Electronic cigarettes

I think electronic cigarettes will be massive, and will end up being regulated. They are already selling them in tesco. This can only be a good thing for snus IMO.

Nicotine gum, patches, inhalers, microtabs, lozenges and nasal sprays are all different kinds of nicotine replacement. Even though they contain nicotine, they do not have the cancer-causing chemicals of chewing tobacco and snuff. They can also help you stop by reducing cravings and discomfort. The nicotine patch has been specifically shown to work.

Behavioural therapy consists of visiting a therapist who will help you to find the best strategy to stop. Your therapist will help you to come up with ways to deal with strong cravings and provide emotional support when you need it.

Some medicines, including bupropion and varenicline are formulated to help people stop using tobacco. These medicines are available only on prescription from your doctor.
Is it just me.. Or wasn't there an article showing that some of these "nicotine replacement" products caused cancer even more so than most smokeless products?
Interesting read and twist on smokeless products.
